RANT: Stop Skin Break Outs!

I suffered (and still do) with annoying acne breaks outs most of my life
I have tried birth control, antibiotics, topicals, retinA, regular facials, topical bat feces (just kidding, but I felt like I had tried everything!)
Finally a Naturopath told me what I kinda’ already knew:
Your skin is a filter and when the organs (liver, kidneys and bowels) that normally do your filtering (of chemicals and toxins and hormones) get over worked, then those things build up in the skin.

Soooo the best things you can do for your skin:
#1 water water water water and then some more water (filtered) to flush out the bad and plump up your skin cells
#2 eliminate anything toxic:
sugar free chewing gum, canned beverages (they are full of  chemicals, even if they say “no preservatives” etc, they still have artificial ingredients),  anything with ingredients you don’t recognize or can’t pronounce, non-natural cleaning products and skin care products with dyes, fragrance or parabens, etc)
#3 more leafy greens:
celery, cucumbers, spinach, kale, etc—to detoxify your body. Are you tired of hearing me say it? Greens are so good for you! Anti-aging, cancer fighting, healthy delicious greens!
#4 consider doing a cleanse :
I have a favorite 2 week cleanse by Integrative Therapeutics or try daily detox with Yogi DeTox tea and Hepasil from USANA
#5 de-stress. We are all go go go all the time, which cranks up your cortisol (stress hormone) which can wreak havoc on your body. Salt and sugar cravings, poor sleep, irritability and skin break outs ensue. So relax, breath, go for a walk, sit and do nothing (when’s the last time you just did nothing!?)
